Finally got things finished and in production with a new product I'm going to start offering as a kit here soon. This board will have a couple of different functions and options that you can select from, auto tilting ears, sound activating (independent left and right mic input), manual control of each ear, as well as functions for blushing cheeks.
Thinking about offering it in many configurations like fully programmed - just plug in the mics and servos and go, or if you want to program it yourself I could include the ICSP programming header (Microchip PIC16F630) for those that want to do their own setup :) The possibilities are endless!
Be on the lookout for more on this once I get them in and if this goes well I'll start on the next PCB, custom RGB led controller :P

Definitely interested in seeing this board come out. Auto-tilting ears sound really neat.
Personally, I'd be interested in blinking eyes and the equivalent of 'Gorg Vision', too. Not sure if you're familiar with the old Gorg Vision system that was developed by Jim Henson for the Gorgs on Fraggle Rock. Pretty neat stuff.
I'm stalking you now. :P

Thankies, just want to give the ability for others to do tilting ears in their own projects and be creative with it.
Hmm that would be neat to see done as well, if it's just blinking action that wouldn't be too hard verses the eyes looking left and right, but yeah the Gorg Vision was pretty much state of the art then and still pretty neat to see up close ^^ might just have to put that on my experiment list for the next >.>
Hehe nuuuuu! I'll just stalk you back ;)

Sure will do! I looked at the board layout again and the programming can be changed to allow for 4 servos, 2 for for ears, 1 for blinking and other for pan, so all that's really left to do is the actual mechanical function of panning and blinking. I'll play around with a design here and see what could be done :)
I like what I am seeing, though you have beat me to it here If you got one for stereo vision at all that could be uber helpful too! Right now I have a Adruino Uno, temperature sensor and a 80mm fan to turn on when the temperature rises to a certain point, sadly the black box it's in and too big for the cut out you made to hide the battery box
Alrighties :) yeah video processing is still new to me but I've always wanted to work more with it directly then buying pre-made modules and having to modify, hopefully I can hook you up then XD Hmm I can't remember was the battery box located in the cheek or the muzzle? it's been too long, I miss your roo butt :(
Battery connection is in the cheek, but the arduino enclosure is too big to fit in there and putting it in the muzzle makes it futile to fit any kind of fan in there, seeing it take up the entire space--eh, it was a good idea while it was in my brain
I miss you as well, I keep talking about heading down there. Perhaps my vacation if I do such be longer than a weekend if I do that--three days is just too short!

I am using thermal peltier's. And a 12v 4.5ah batt. Using a small peltier I get 2-3 hrs. Using a larger one, about 45min to a hr. I would like to make one with a small pump to flow water through the entire suit. But those peltier's use quite a lot of power. Thinking of trying a 24v set -up. But been to busy on other things ATM to work on it.
