Also, your description reminds me of Elias Merhige's 1994 experimental horror film Begotten (1994) which he concocted based on a near-death experience he had due to a car accident. He wanted it too look like some half-forgotten religious myth dug deep into our collective cultural subconscious, something like the Old Testament, and for that he shot everything on grungy b/w 8mm film, had it telecined, then printed each single frame out on an ink printer and photographed each single frame again off the paper.
The plot of Begotten begins with God committing suicide, and Mother Earth takes dead God's semen to fertilize herself with the "Son of Man", aka "Flesh and Bones", who being born a full adult then stumbles through a dead wasteland full of violence and rape on the hands of ugly abominations. The film's soundtrack consists of nothing but disturbing grindcore sounds and a very nasty breathing sound.

It sure is, if you're into that kinda thing! Just remember it's experimental and kinda hard to come by. I once tried to order it on DVD, and for a few weeks, I got e-mails from the seller whenever their old deadline had run out, and every time they wrote they still hadn't found the copy in their depot. After a few months of extending deadlines, they cancelled my order and gave me my money back, saying they had obviously lost track of the copy.
But at least the film is on YouTube in varying qualities.

Oh, and another, more recent independent work in the same spirit would be Beyond the black rainbow (2010), only in color and with actual dialogues. http://www.magnetreleasing.com/beyo.....eblackrainbow/
