The hat is not a lie. (But never believe anything else.)
This is PRIDE. As mentioned in earlier art's description, it moves among normal folks, disguised as one of them. Kind a.
First of all, remember two things to save your life. Pride is it, a genderless creature like all postcreated creatures. Secondly, it fakes its appearance. It is no way a shapeshifter. Pride is skilled with intentional mind cheater (actually the second best of all postcreateds). It never changes its real look. It just cheates all five common senses.
Pride chose to disguise itself like a dravene, as they reminded Pride of itself (just that any dravene doesn't have magenta eyes, which actually seem to glow in dark). The expression it have, is its standard expression, which is not seen in its normal faceless face. Its clothing, as fake it is, is still describing Pride well. As distinguishable it may look like, its mind hackery works well; Pride is not remembered by anybody if it doesn't want. (In fact Pride could look COMPLETELY normal if it wanted. It just never wants to. It wants to look like itself.)
Pride is interested about normal folk and often wants to take some contact on them, like snatches somebody from a street to have a cup of coffee/tea or a pint of beer (whatever is preferred) and talks with them. Pride is worth its name; proud and confident. It also has some kind of half-twisted sense of honor; Pride likes the proud ones (be they good, bad or just debauched), the confident ones, the mentally strong ones. Maybe it likes a challenge, but it considers manipulating weak minds as very unproud action and is definitely not doing that.
It could be said that Pride does the same thing as Will. While Will is purely curious and incapable to nasty plotting, Pride knows how to do it. While Will honestly wants to be a normal creature, Pride is completely satisfied as being a supernatural being. And while Will tries to understand many things, Pride knows already (even if some things are never so clear, like gender). Pride finds Will amusing. At least Will has strong will to be something, is not afraid of Pride even if knowing what it really is and gives a suitable challenge for Pride to make witty remarks what Will could understand. And Will asks things to what Pride could only snicker. Will is innocent. Pride is depraved of sort - but as said it has its own high moral, so it is not dangerous, just very, very unnerving.

I still love this thing. In all the ways it looks like, all the ways it is.
