The majority of it was all done with ApoxieSculpt or Fixit (basically same product, with slightly different strength profiles). The figures are all done with that except for the glasses, since apoxiesculpt is not translucent. The kilt took foreveeeeeeeeeeer to sculpt. It wasn't hard, just fiddly.
The time machine was done in a couple different materials, most of which I had to make look like different metals.
The decking is the plastic they use in pizza boxes to prevent sliding.
The housings for the LEDS in the back are actually two pill bottles. they're just upside down so the lid in on the bottom, so they can be unscrewed from the rest of the sculpture so you can get at the LEDs and the switch for them. (or swap out the battery) The light is diffused with crumpled up plastic wrap with a little glitter thrown in to give it a little sparkle.
The big chunk in back that's supposed to be some type of dynamo (which you can't see in this particular photo) is actually a piece of turned wood, repainted in metallic colors so it looks like milled metal. I have a box of misc milled drawer pulls and furniture feet for exactly that sort of thing.
All the rest of the time machine itself is done in apoxiesculpt and fixit. Mostly fixit for the front piece because its higher strength, so I can have that thin sweeping edge for the front controls without worrying about it breaking.
so lots of faking metals! the only soldering I actually did was for the LEDs.
