This picture was originally drawn in Mar 2005(during chemistry). This has a character I haven't drawn in a long time. Kyoujin was a winged demon who messed up somehow(I never decided how) and had one of his wings amputated as a consequence. He now poses as a human during the day, and fights malevolent creatures at night. The pendant around his neck is a small sun and I think was somehow related to his powers(fire related).
I colored him soon after I drew it and then sat unfinished for a long time. I think I didn't like how the grotesques were coming out and I wasn't quite skilled enough then to fix it, so I just left it. In Jan 2012, I finally went back and hammered out the background and colored it. The background was originally going to be a modern city, like New York City, where he is one a tall building at night. But, I felt the "old world style" fit matched the foreground better. Maybe he is there on a mission or somthing. Anyways, Edinburgh, Scotland was used as the city reference.
