Home Made Pizza Puff served with a classic Cesar salad.
(Nothing is more comforting than Pizza in my book! This is a great Recipe to do with kids! It's always nice to lets them help in the kitchen. )
**Easy Difficulty**Kid Friendly**
Serves 4
1 Package of Croissant Roll Dough (8 Croissants make 4 Pizza Puffs)
16 slices of Pepperoni (4 per Pizza Puff)
½ cup Mozzarella Cheese (Evenly divided into 4 portions)
For Sauce
1 tsp Fresh Garlic, minced
1 tsp Onion Powder
4 Tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
¼ tsp Dried Basil
¼ tsp Dried Oregano
¼ tsp Dried Parsley
¼ tsp Ground Black Pepper
¼ tsp Worcestershire
1 tsp Anchovy Paste
1 six oz can Tomato Paste
6 ½ Tbsp Hot Water
Pinch of Brown Sugar
Salt to Taste
1.) Mix all the Ingredients for the Pizza Sauce in a small bowl, and stir. Add salt to your liking and Set aside for at least 30 min. to let the flavors mingle.
2.) Open the Croissant Package without separating the pre-portioned triangles. Unroll the dough and careful separate into rectangles. This should be pretty Easy since the dough is already perforated.
3.) With a wet finger, gentle mash the perforated lines of each rectangle so the Puffs keep together. Then place even portions of Made Pizza Sauce, Mozzerella Cheese, and Pepperoni onto each Puff.
4.) Close the Puffs by folding the Dough over the ingredients, and seal them tightly with your finger. You can then go over the edges with a fork for a pretty design. Then cut a few holes on top to let the puffs vent a bit as they cook. You don’t want them to explode. Place the Puffs on am Oven Tray lined with wax paper or Foil.
5.) In an Oven set at 375 degrees F. bake the Pizza Puffs for 12 to 15 min or until Golden. Remove from the Oven and place onto plate with a Fresh Cezar Salad. Garnish with minced Parsley, Grated Parmesan Cheese, and Pepper Flakes. Happy Eating!
Extra Info: I love making these with my little nieces because they can do everything by them self (with me watching of course) , and then Uncle Tigerbread just puts the Home made Pizza Puffs into the Oven for them. 15 min later, they get to enjoy a yummy lunch they’ve made themselves! My oldest niece who’s 12 never really got into food and cooking until I had her make her own lunch. Now she helps her mother out when ever she can.
I always suggest to parents that getting your children involved in the kitchen with the stuff they like to eat will help them open up to new foods, and give them a way to connect to what they’re eating. I don’t have kids of my own, but I take care of my nieces a lot and they always enjoy it. They get to be my little Sous Chefs.
I hope to one day have my own kids so I can pass on my recipes. Until then, I’ll just pass on my recipes to you guys. :p
Like this Pizza Recipe. It’s great for regular pizza as well with some alterations. Mix in fresh herbs instead of Dried, and throw in some minced Sun Dried Tomatoes, and you’ll have an Awesome Sauce. You can omit the Worcestershire completely if you like. I add it in for some sweet tanginess that hits your pallet subtly. It works great if you are making a spicier Pizza Sauce too.
The Anchovy Paste is optional if you want to make a Vegetarian version. Substitute the Pepperoni with some sautéed mushrooms, or spinach. Try different types of pizzas in this form. Hawaiian Pizza. Sausage Pizza. And even BBQ Chicken Pizza. Have fun and Happy Eating!
