Blackspots's Home in 3D - Version 1
Excusing the rather poor quality of this (I had it render next to the highest to get it done faster), this is pretty much how Blackspots's home looks like (and it definitely is not Cape Cod style). I used Sweet Home 3D to create this, though I might use Google Sketch up instead. It seems you can't create roofs with the program. It is approximately 2700sqft in all. The noisy green ground is supposed to be grass.

Sketchup, maybe? Sweet Home 3D is open source soft, but it's limited, is useful for showing your clients good initial ideas. The free version of sketchup is nice but it restricts you the export files....
Why don't you try Blender? is a nice software for 3d modeling, you can start your rough 3d plan in QCAD or LibreCAD, that lets you export to DXF and import it on Blender and use that as reference for drawing 3d with precision.
If you don't like LibreCAD 2d restriction (also it doesn't have the paper space/layouts feature) you may try BricsCAD from Bricsys, it is based on IntelliCAD which is very similar to AutoCAD, so the learning curve is short, and best part, the licenses start at $500USD
Well, that ... what i can tell about it... let me know what you think ~u~
