Huehuecoyotl, The old coyote, he is a shapeshifter, and a mischievous aspect of Tezcatlipoca. He is known for throwing large parties, and festivals are often in tribute to him. In his human form he is known to carry a flute, being a skilled musician and a captivating story teller. Both men and women are warned against placing trust in flute players they encounter at night, for Huehuecoyotl, when bored, is known for causing chaos and even war, with nothing more than a few twisted words...

This is a decorated, but functional flute, the flute is made from bamboo, it's something I bought, but took me some time to complete. It's wrapped in several pieces of leather that have had various symbols burned into them. At the top is an image of the sun, the bottom has a canine paw. It also has a coyote nail secured onto a leather cuff. It also has a tuft of coyote fur, and a section of fringed leather which has several beads, along with 2 tea stained coyote fangs.
As I said this is a functional flute, but I have no idea what key it would be.

Yea, I know what you mean, Most of the trades I've learned were out of the necessity of personal touches.

The size looks to be A or G. Hole spacing suggests probably minor diatonic scale. You can download a free voice or guitar tuning app for phone or computer. Cover all the holes and play it and that will give you the root note. Then uncovering the holes one by one, you should be able to identify major or minor key.
