.... I think I've fallen in love with Manga Studio. The inking tools are by far the best I've seen in any program, and the controls are similar to Corel Painter.

You mean those additional screentones which on the third disk?
First of all: everything I say do it at your own risk!
What language has your Windows?
Originally it should work like this:
File->Material installation...
Buuuut if Windows is not English (or folder My documents has different name) it won't work.
There is solution... but it kind a risky
Or maybe you mean import screentones from MS4 to MS5? This is impossible. As I said MS4 and MS5 are totally different softwares.

Draw your own fishnet texture then :D
1. draw square
2. tilt square by 45 degrees
3. select square
4. Open Edit -> Register image as material...
5. Put a check marks at "Tiling" and "Use for paper texture" options in "Material property" dialog.
6. Save it somewhere in material folders (better do your own folder for easy search)
Ta-daaa! You have fishnet pattern :D
Now make any selection and drag it in selection from your material folder.

God thats just as bad when the makers od OC made additional variants of it but removed the online networking entirely as a whole. The new versions of OC are simple a beautiful and easy program to use. I also tried MS 4 myself. I've come to love it for vectoring more over then sketches and high detail lines like this.
Main feature of MS 4 is doing comics/manga. It has VERY neat features to do comics layouts very fast.
Also it has fantastic rulers and screentones. And since I do not use correction (I hate it) I love inking in MS 4. So close to real life inks.
Weak spot of MS 4 is coloring.
MS5 hasn't features to do comics but has awesome coloring features. It's very close to Sai+Photoshop mix.
