Soooooooo finally finally here's my pic for 
gnistra whom I love a lots. She wanted a traditional piece and I spent a long time pondering but she told me she wanted her with her umbrella so I used that. Here she is in her usual black in purple rain :D I'm sort of wondering whether I should have made the background green, but then again I think a purple sky is probably prettier than a green one. I really like how it turned out, but I think I have a special affinity with the lineart more:

Alas, it is no more, but I'm glad I scanned it before coloring so that I have both versions. :) Hope you like it, babe!

Thanks so much! I used markers as my base with prisma pencil on top :D I like using markers underneath before I start because that way you don't get the white of the page showing throw when you're trying to color with pencils. It helps you get a more even look, I think :)

Now on to what I like about the pic. The fur texture is really nice, the shading done well enough to give the picture depth without going over board, and the addition of the umbrella in the rain was a nice touch. And you're right, purple is a much better background color than green, it's cuter. :3 Now for some reason, I'm thinking of Prince's 'Purple Rain', even though I hate the artist.
