What did I do? Well, I nearly got hit by a black lady in a really big black truck who merged across the double yellows into the carpool lane going much slower than I was, at night, with no warning or indication (no flashers at all) causing me to put one of my boyfriend's motorcycles (pictured) on the ground; destroying the gauge cluster, master brake cylinder, front brake lever, right hand mirror, left hand mirror, bending the forks beyond repair, bending the handlebars beyond repair, denting the hell out of the gas tank, folding one of the engine crash guards against the engine (good lord those things are invaluable), road rashing the rear end and seat, and tweaking the center stand so it doesn't work right anymore.
Oh, and aside from that, I now have a hand-sized hole in the back of my riding pants through all layers (didn't hit me, I was wearing pants under them), as well as smaller holes in various other places on said pants. My brand new gloves, purchased just before FC, have battle scars; turns out titanium threaded carbon fiber only works so well against the road. And my nice cold weather waterproof Hein Gerick jacket is damaged, too. Oh, and my boots as well. But I'm in one piece.
And she has the gall to say that she was already in the carpool lane. Bitch.
So now I have to wait 10 days (from last Saturday (02/08/08)) for a determination from CHP whether it was my fault or hers so I can either sic a lawyer on her to get my back fixed which is currently all jacked up and quite painful, buy me new riding gear and fix the bike in what ever way is appropriate.
Yee haw.
