Back when Nature was unperverted, tigers were indeed kings of the jungle. Can't really blame the critter for being nostalgic for the "good old days". But, y'know, it ain't the good old days anymore.....

actually, due to simple conservation of energy top predators, including tigers, are doomed to natural rarity, forever outnumbered by other animals even under the best of circumstances. It works like this, the source of energy for life on earth is the sun, which is turned into carbohydrates by plants and consumed by herbivores, the herbivores can only convert some of this energy into growth for their own bodies since they need to use some of it to move around and stuff, the carnivores that eat them therefore have less energy to access. That's why a typical food chain rarely has more than 4 links (or even 3,) any more than that and the predator would have to eat so much it would be impractical for survival.
