Good morning!
Because Peterson got injured in Game 3, you'll have to put in Gonzalez
and make him 2nd string Center.
As much as I like Sven, he's not helping the cause out. Reduce his
minutes and tell him to stick to defense.
Delgado needs more minutes. Can you slide her to 2nd string Small
Forward and drop Holly down to 3rd string Small Forward?
Next roster is due by Friday at 10pm EDT! Thanks!

Kawaru-
Thanks, but your place is in the office, not the floor. Let me deal with
the players, you deal with the staff.
That having been said, I will consider your suggestions, but, honestly,
we need something more drastic. Those players are working themselves
to the bone out there. They can't catch a break.
Unless we can out-voodoo the Voodoo, our season is over.

Coach,
May I remind you that prior to the trading deadline that I too am
involved with the players, particularly which ones you get to shuffle
around and sit out. Were it not for the FBA front office denying our
request to sign Sidoharjo after he was released by the Totems, we'd be
at a full squad with an extra front court backup forward instead of
that one-eyed pine riding swingfur. And if you haven't already
received word from Mr. Frump, he is expecting Ms. Delgado instead of
either of the otters to have some more court time ANYWAY since we're
at home.
I trust you won't do anything to risk the team's future. One playoffs
series is nothing compared to what we can do with this club in the
next few years with these players. But good job on working with me in
getting the team this far, and I'll talk to you soon.

Sorry for earlier. Just really frustrated. Let’s talk over lunch.

Rourke Danyals (Cat, Head Coach, Albany) rubbed his temples as he stared at his computer screen. It really wasn’t Yowai (Cabbit, Manager, Albany)’s fault, but he felt like he had to vent his frustrations out at SOMEbody. Just one more game.
The team had come so far since he’d started as GM a year and a half ago. With a year of coaching under his belt, he really felt like he was in the right place for the team, and though a large amount of the team’s success rested on Dasher’s (Rodger Umaechi, Husky, F, Albany) shoulders, but the whole team really had grown even since the end of last year. And now they had just one more game.
Last year, he would have been thrilled to have any spot in the playoffs, and this year was no exception. Until he found out who they were up against. Blioxi was seeded at #4, but they might has well have been #2 or even #1. There was no doubt in his mind that the Voodoo was the strongest team in the East, but due to a string of bad luck, they were seeded to #4 on a technicality of fewer games won than Tallahassee. The fact that Albany would have had a better shot at winning the tournament if they were seeded #6 instead of #5 made Danyals’ stomach flip. This year they had a shot of going far, and now…? Well… now they had one more game.
His hopes were up, but the practical side of him told him it was useless. Albany was in trouble, and they’d do their best, but ultimately, Biloxi was a better team. Not that he’d ever tell any of his players that.
He though back to Yowai’s email. “I trust you won't do anything to risk the team's future.” Well, stupid is as stupid does, and he knew that Albany was already in trouble.
Trouble. Now that’s a thought. He mulled something over in his mind, then made a decision.

Sorry. Gotta bail on lunch. I’ll call you this afternoon, okay?

The plane ride was short. Perhaps it was a mis-use of company property, but this was important, and he’d be back before it was missed. It was weird, flying by himself in the plane he was so used to sharing with the rest of the players.
The air was sticky as soon as he left the plane. Then again, it was always sticky in the south. It only got muggier as he traveled into the swamp. He felt like driving was cheating, but time was not on his side. The last time he was here was… well… he couldn’t remember when. It’d been way too long, and he’d been in a different kind of trouble then.
The hut was largely unchanged, though the river that used to run by it was dried up. Maybe it was rerouted by a new dam, but without the rushing water, the hut looked sad and lonely. He instantly regretted not visiting for some time. He’d have to come back over the summer. She’d helped him out so many times. And here he was, asking again.
It seemed silly now to be here. He almost turned around, when he heard a voice call out, “Boy…?”
He smiled. That voice which was so familiar to him. He turned around and said: “Hello Nana.”
===
The wolf took the tea off the kettle and poured it into two glasses. Like the hut, very little had changed about her as well.
“Here you go. Now what kind of trouble are you in this time, hmmm…?” She smiled as she handed him a cup. He blushed.
“Now, Nana, what makes you think I’m in trouble…?”
“Because you never visit anymore unless there’s something. It used to always be related to your brother, but since he's pretty much out of the picture, I've seen you a lot less. It’s okay, though. Nice to know you still need me in your life.” She sat down and stared at him curiously. “So, what is it.”
He was even more embarrassed now.
“I… ah…”
“It’s that team of yours, isn’t it?”
He blinked. Of course she knew why he was here.
“Yeah, I… ah…”
“You wanted to see if there was something to the curse, don’t you…?”
"Curse?" Now that she called him out, he was playing dumb. She didn't fall for it.
“Uh…. Yes.” He was usually more eloquent than that, but she had a way of disarming him to the core.
“Alright. Finish your tea. I’ll read your leaves, and we can go from there.”
He finished the rest in one gulp, and handed her the cup. She chuckled. “Still impatient as ever, I see. Well okay. Let’s take a look…”
She poured over the dregs of his tea, and frowned a little.
“There’s some bad mojo goin’ on, but I’m not sure it’s all Biloxi, though if they do know any voodoo, it’s not helping. Probably because you’re susceptible, but there’s a lot going on here. I can’t guarantee that anything I do will help, but it never hurts to try, right?”
“Oh.” He slumped. She took a lot more stock in these sorts of things than he did, but it still didn’t mean he was a non-believer. “So, what do I do…?”
“Simple,” she said. “You have to reverse the curse…”
