Sonic Generations got a lot of things right. As did Sonic Colors for the Wii. Other than that? yeah, avoid em like the plague.

sonic heroes was my first realization that sonic was going downhill pretty fast..

last sonic game i played.. i think was Shadow The Hedgehog.. it was alright but i wasnt a fan of using guns and vehicles in a Sonic game.

I personally liked Heroes though but thats just me. and Sonic Adventure 2 was pretty much my childhood

I actually enjoyed sonic heroes (you wanna hear really annoying english voice acting, play arc rise fantasia and final fantasy X) i still have that xbox combo silver box. The super monkey ball with sonic heroes

You should try Colours and Generations. I'd say they're even better than S3&K. Sega's really gotten their act together lately.

i've heard great things about both those games! I especially wanna try generations.. sounds so awesome and clever/cute.

I'm a die-hard Sonic fan. I own just about every Sonic game there is! (On my computer, that is. Among other things, too!) That said, this is one awesome pic!

He was my favorite chilhood character at the time, but I later lost interest with him after the release of Heroes and 2006. x_x

mmmf, a teeny bit of perspective issue on the ankle, where the leg going into the shoe looks like it's going away from the viewer, which basically means someone's bashed his ankle in with a brick and bent it around. Kinda irritating since the rest of it is fucking awesome, but my eye won't stop looking at that ankle xDDD

XD yeah when i was lining it the sketch in that area was essentially just one big clusterfuck LOL so i just kind of winged it without really looking at the whole picture

Sonic adventure 1 and 2 will always be my favourite Sonic games. I really really REALLY don't like how Sonic games are these days though.. I just don't enjoy the gameplay :( I know Sonic's meant to be fast.. But when I can just hold down a button and pretty much boost through the level without doing much of anything, I don't see the fun in it. I mean, in Sonic generations with modern Sonic, you can't even see the beautiful graphics and details of the level when you just boost through it. I think they made Sonic a little TOO fast! :D
But anyway, an amazing piece of art! I love the colouring :)

well i wouldn't trace it but sure you can use it as a reference. i would highly advise using one of the official sonic renders though, more because they are obviously more accurate and well-drawn.

Sonic's awesome and the games aren't that bad. I have Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Generations, Sonic the Hedgehog for PS3 and Sonic and the Black Knight and they are fun actually to play. Given my family loves Shadow, but Sonic is awesome just the same, my son loves him and it's one of his fav characters so the games are fun. You should really give them a try it's worth it if you like the characters and the story.
