I saw a deer this morning, too. living in the country means animals are constantly running at/from/around my car. I've yet to hit a single one (bunny, deer, or otherwise), and I hope to keep that record for the rest of my life... it takes me a long time to get to town sometimes.
I've been resisting the urge to bring a bunny home until more financially secure. it's hard.

Raising house rabbits can be costly if you aren't prepared. ;u;
Luckily, my rabbit's cage was donated to me from someone with outdoor rabbits. When you feel ready to bring a bunny home, make sure you do your homework. Bunnies can be a lot of work if you haven't looked into what you're bringing home.
I suggest dwarf or mini breeds, they stay tiny and cute forever. And if you can, get a male. Females are... bitchy if you don't get them fixed. Males... hump feet unless you get them fixed, but are normally a lot nicer.
I have a female mini blue satin, she's the love of my life, but she's a pain in the ass! c:

Oh, I definitely know better than to bring one home without preparation. I've been in contact with a rescue here for a while, and once I'm more financially stable and able to properly bunnyproof, I'll probably foster for them to see if rabbits will work for me. researching animal car is something I do in spare time anyway, so I've been reading up on rabbits with the rest of my usual hobby studies. been looking into it for almost 2 years without bringing one home. no worries about me being irresponsible.
(but thanks for the advice! I like seeing people hand it out to new, potentially ill prep'd owners. gold stars!)

Ah, I'm so happy you look things up. ;u;
I've heard some bunny related horror stories that tore my heart out, but I won't go into that because fdfgh who needs to be depressed?
What kind of bunny are you looking to get maybe? Have you looked at breeds and found one you like best? c:

believe me, I know the kind of horror stories you mean. animal rescue is a big part of my life.
I don't know actually! I've been considering a smaller bunny, looked at mini rexes and some lops and lionheads, but really... breed's not a big deal to me at all, and the rescue I'll be working with does temperament testing and stuff, so I'll know what to expect beforehand. as long as I have a happy, healthy rabbit friend, I don't care about specifics.
although I'll admit, I'm a sucker for the huge ones. I got to meet a flemish giant and I could die happy
