A piece of gift art for our dear friends
thornwolf and
skorzy that turned into a collaboration with the uniquely talented
foxamoore
The inspiration behind this piece was a visit to Joshua Tree National Park with our very good friends Skorzy and Thornwolf who were kind enough to give us a guided tour of some of their favorite places, which quickly became some of our favorite places. Thank you Thornwolf and Skorzy for the adventures and all the vivid color painted memories.
This painting came to be as we watched the sunset over the park and later the stars as they took their long slow yawn across the deepening sky. I wanted very much to capture the feeling I had in that very moment and moreso to create something for two friends who had given me said moment and all the many smiles and good memories in the recent years.
Additionally, something else wonderful happened. I shared the painting wip with the talented :userFoxAmoore: and he immediately asked if he could write an accompanying music track to go with the painting. I was thrilled that the painting would inspire something in his musical bones and could scarcely turn down such a generous inspiring offer.
I hope for you, my dear friends, the track and the accompanying image may sway your hearts to dance together beneath the sprawl of stars and feel both small and grand before them.

Here we are now
with lights above our heads
here we stay now
beneath white blue and reds.
None in sight
a million lights
here to stay now with us
here we are now
beneath a million lights.

The night sky some how makes me smile. It reminds me of looking under the night sky one night on the 4th of July in 2011, while video chatting with my boyfriend. He is in the airforce and was in South America at the time. Somehow, I felt he was with me when I was looking at the night sky.
This is really a beautiful piece

Oh my gosh Balaa, seeing this masterpiece finally uploaded WITH accompanying music? I just can't contain my joy! I seriously played the music and stared at the pic and just cried a joyful cry, and am still doing it even as I type this XD

Wow....really wow. I have really missed a picture of that kind in my inbox in the last weeks. A picture that thouches a special emotional point and is full of beauty and detail again. I am totally amazed by your fantastic skill to draw the nightsky and stars in general. They look so awesome when you do that and give me a similar feeling as if I watch the real stars in a warm summernight. You did a wonderful job again at all those stars, the nebulas and especially the coloring. In my opinion it is really hard to draw a nightsky since the colors need to be right to create the very special effect you have created here. I also love the way you have done the horizon with the fading light of the sunset behind the far mountains in the background. The rocks all around and the giant one right in the middle look cool too and the whole area seems to be of that kind you would want to explore and to be in during such a beautiful nightbreak. The light on the biggest rock is done in a great way again and gives the picture a special kind of warmth that perfectly underlines the feelings, emotions of the characters on the rock above. I really like the way you have managed to get the heart shape in there, since it is a nice effect and metaphor the same time that shows the affection for each other.
Absolutely brilliant piece again. Together with the wonderful song Fox Amoore did for this picture, the feelings in it become even more visible and make you almost feel the emotions. Such a brilliant work of both of you.....Thanks for sharing.

This is truly beautiful. I have always been fascinated by astronomy and I feel this perfectly encompasses the wonder and amazement of our universe I am overcome with when looking into the night sky. I have only once seen the sky this clear when I was in Tanzania away from any cities or towns. I love it, thank you for helping to cheer a broken soul.
This is absolutely brilliant. Even now, over two years since the original upload date, I have to favorite it and comment on just how lovely this is!
The accompanying piece is quite nice as well - were it not for that, another piece that might come to mind is "The Flow Of Life" by Nobuo Uematsu, in the Final Fantasy 7 OST.
Odd...although I have never been to Joshua Tree National park, this brings back memories. A time and place I can't quite describe with words...
