Leaving aside the fact that oil is a non-reneweable resource that's getting hard enough to extract safely as it is, if there's a post-apocalyptic scenario going on, there's prolly not gonna be enough infrastructure around to drill for it.

I suppose the motorcycles in your typical postapocalyptic scenario is intended as a status symbol more than anything else, showing the world that you are a fearsome gang willing to fight for the last scraps of oil, but it's really not the optimal mode of transportation for the practical-minded survivalist.

I asked a friend of mine what mode of transportation would be best in a post-apocalyptic scenario and he answered "golf car with solar panels", it's not gonna get you anywhere fast, but you WILL get there eventually. Sounds logical enough, altough I don't know if that will make a good Mad Max-sequel...

EDIT: Because of Furaffinity's new layout, thumbnails are larger or smaller based on their width. This means that tall pictures are squeezed to the side and left forgotten while wide pictures hog all the space. A wide thumbnail can be as big as five tall submissions and this opens up a lot of oppertunity for abuse. If you can, let Furaffinity know this is a problem, that prolly won't change anything but one can always hope.
