Bucci Cygnus is one of two characters for an idea that has so little going for it at this point, that I've been considering folding it into one of my other universes. It would be a little cramped there, as a backdrop to a different main story, but I don't think I can do it justice as the main story on its own.
Bucci is a minor noble who was a second or third son of three sons and a bunch of daughters. One son for the family, one son for God, and one son for the King, Bucci was the one "for the king", and joined the military. There he made friends with the other main character. And then their... squad? Is that the right term? Anyhow, their group was attacked, and they were the only survivors. A rumor got started that they'd betrayed their fellows, and they had to run.
Oh, and Bucci's partner? Has The Worst Luck. If a horse loses a nail, it hits him in the face. If he throws a coin over his shoulder, it lands in a cow patty, and then a rat steals it. Or he hits someone important in the face with it and gets arrested for assault. If there's an avalanche, it happens while he's crossing the pass. His luck's never quite bad enough to actually kill him, but it makes him work for it. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to drag his friend down with him. Bucci's luck is as normal as anyone else's; the random misfortunes of his life are properly random. Though, he can still catch the fallout of some of his friend's luck. If two guys are together and one pisses off someone important, they both end up in a cell.
I should do more art of Bucci. This piece doesn't show off his character design at all.
