April 16th, 2007, a gunman opens fire in several classrooms on the second floor of Norris Hall on the Virginia Tech campus. When the smoke has cleared, 33 people are dead, including the shooter.
Last thursday, February 14th, 2008, another gunman opened fire into a freshman biology class in a lecture hall on the campus of Northern Illinois University. Six people are dead, fifteen more injured. Some are still in critical condition.
I am a Hokie. They are the Huskies. The scale of the tragedy does not matter. We understand.

They will rot indeed. I mean the more I look at the VA Tech shooter in particular and the others.
He was crazy,manipulative, a pervert(using his camera phone to try and take pictures from under skirt of women) and wanted attention.
He got it but not the kind he wanted. He got mad and then decided he go on his "rampage" complaining about how the women were in their hedonistic stuff and other things in his video. He was loner.
The more information that comes out on this current shooter. We'll find out.

seems they are mostly loners. have you heard of that shooting at Erfurt, germany two years ago? that guy was a loner, too. and he played "ego-shooter games". of course, politicians tried to use that for their own career, trying to have such games prohibited. and of course, nothing happened; since they would lose a ready scarecrow. they only want to disguise that they are in fact, powerless to change anything at all.
it starts not only with the parents themselves, but also with a society that doesn't demand they take care of their mischpoke, but requires them to concentrate on making money so they can at least live.
in this case they had neither a clue their boy was wasting time with video games, was expelled from school a couple weeks before, and has already bought a couple ancient front-loaded handguns via ebay, made black powder, and cast some bullets for them.
under their nose!
the boy had a large LJ entry, and it is said his run was hinted at long ago. authorities later deletet it back to 2005 entries, but I heard it was almost evident way back when. (they seem to try to avoid accusations as to why they didn't do anything to prevent it when it was written loud and clear out there, but police is too few to search through a gazillion of LJ entires and more to sieve out potential dangerous individuals. but try tell that to the plebs, fueled by yellow press rampages and prejudices) the boy was rather intelligent and observant, but unfortuantely drew the wrong conclusions, and acted upon them.
I think it's possible the case with most amok-runners. they see it all, but their conclusion leads into bloodbaths...
