A jay gryphon! Based mostly on a Steller's jay, and at first I was thinking gray/blue/black cat... but I keep thinking it should be part chipmunk, since I'd see Steller's jays and chipmunks side-by-side at Muir Woods!
...can you imagine the SOUND a jaymunk would make? SHREEEKchit-chit-chit-chit... oh god...

It’s always great to see an image with so much detail. I wish I got to see more work like this.
The fur looks fantastic, it must have taken a lot of work to define it so well with all the individual lines, but I really think it paid off. I especially like how the colors transition from blue to gray without ever interrupting the way the fur flows. it looks very natural (or at least as natural as a chipmunk/blue jay can look).
The feathers are nice too, although I am a little confused about what's happening on the outside of the wing facing us. It seems like the feathers and fur are merging together, which is actually a very neat concept, but it's hard for me to tell.
I really like the beak. The steelish color is very cool, and the light reflects off of it beautifully. More than that, though, it just looks very solidly like a beak. Did you have a reference when you drew it? In any case, you captured it very well. I also like the bright blue eyes, I’m glad you made them different enough so that they don't blend into all the other blue. All and all I think everything looks great together, but maybe because of the crest the body looks only about two and a half heads long, which makes it seem like the head might be a little too big. The more I look at it the more I think that just because of the crest, though.
Oh, and before I forget: the pine cone is an excellent atmospheric touch. If you want to go further though, I could see a forest background or something similar working very well with this, like what you did with your "dino" submission or "Mosscat in Springtime".
I’m really looking forward to seeing more work from you! Good luck with everything!

I love the colours-- but I admittedly did a double-take at the size of his head and the shoulder/neck anatomy. Usually your art is so perfectly proportioned-- at least, as far as my eye can tell! Regardless, he's an adorable gryph combination, and that pinecone is really cute.
And really, feel free to kick me in the face for this comment. I generally don't critique-- and certainly not unasked for, from an artist who's work I admire as much as I do yours-- but I figured I'd be brave for once. X)
