Min! I'm sorry, I've been meaning to say something to you for a while but unfortunately my brain is stupid. in any case, thanks a lot for being willing to share your work, I know you go out of your way to post it other places and I'm glad you don't let disreputable people get to you. Just want you to know you have my respect for being willing and generous enough to do that.
And it's good to see new submissions from you as well. I do like this, even is it's not exactly what I think of when I think of a fertility god. The face is nice; I really like the coy-ish expression. The slight blush under both eyes was a very nice touch. I will say the eyes seem kind of small, considering the size of the snout, but maybe that's a bull thing.
Speaking of bull things...the horns look nice. I like how the angle they curve up at isn't ninety degrees but also isn't too acute, it's a nice balanced between the two. The ears are simple but the inside curves define them well and they look good, if again a mite small.
The necklace is a nice touch and I think really helps the deity look. it goes well with the simplicity of everything else and I can imagine it drives home the point that this is someone important without making it too much and seemingly like it's someone trying to be important.
Actually, on the same simplicity note I'm impressed at how you were able to make the entire body using very few lines. It makes the whole thing seem very smooth and easy to look at. The curves work very well, especially in making the belly and the thighs look full. A question about the design, though: do you have one cloven hoof and one non-cloven one? I know the left one is turned away from us, but I still think at that angle you should be able to see part of the cleft. One the other hand, if you did purposely do the cloven/non-cloven thing, then I think that was a very neat choice. I don't think I've heard of anyone doing that before.
I think your art looks very good, but if you want to take extra time on a sketch I think the extra definition in your works like "Dragoon Tris" and "Paint the Town Lavender" (the latter of which is a hilarious title, buy the way) really helps detail the musculature and can make a figure look more animate. Although I think your use of curves already does a great job of that. And your use of curves is good at "subtle" hinting, too.
But I will say there's a lot of white space in this image. You should listen to
TristanHawthorne and fill it with lettuce! Or I really thought the necklace was a great Egyptian touch, but you could always include other things like that for atmosphere in the space around a character.
Thanks again for sharing your work, sorry if I wasted your time with rambling. Good luck with everything!
