I was trying a new approach to how I ink my drawing, So I deside to use the photoshop pen tool.

Process:

The drawing
As with all my work I always start out draw the character, In this cases putting the right poses on Zaltag, a poses can often define the character personality.

Cleanup
Once I have the sketch the way I wanted it I scan it and open the image in photoshop were I ink it using the pen tool. This is actually the very first time I used the pen in photoshop.

Layout
When the inking is done I then create two layers for the flat colors the reason for two is cause I don't want his body and cloths colors on one layer.

Final
Once the flat colors are in place I then duplicate the tow layers and apply the shades and highlight using the dodge and burn tools. I also added another layer for the highlight on his eyes and tag.

This project all in all turn out great the pen really makes the image look crisp and clean, I'm going to be using the pen more often.
