(lap-o-gonz)

an original species made by me, the Lapogonze are a mystical race of cats from a different realm. they live in tropical rainforests and tend to hide in bushes when hunting prey. they are able to magically shift their colors to adjust to their environment in real-time.

Lapogonze are intelligent creatures. the most skilled of the groups tend to conjure up powerful spells at will. they can communicate with other living things with telepathy and can create portals that take them miles away. Lapogonze can be very social animals. some tend to stay in a group while others prefer to be the lone wolf. in groups though, females are the leaders as they are commonly mystically more powerful than the males. both genders hunt for food together.

Lapogonze feel affection for their kin. because of this, there is hardly any competition in mating season, when it comes to groups, that is. if a lone male or female meets either another lone Lapogonze or one in a group, it is natural for them to engage in one on one fight. if the male manages to mount the female, then the female will stand down and mate with him. if the male loses, then the female will place a temporary scent on the male, signifying his failure, and allow him to go. this kind of fighting only happens because lone females tend to prefer strong males.

Lapogonze are peaceful towards animals that aren't considered prey or hostile. there are humans in their realm. if the Lapogonze senses no weapons on the human, then it will allow the human's presence. the main distinction between a male and female lapogonze is the horn length. the horns on a female are naturally longer to prevent males from mating too aggressively. also females don't have a "beard" length of hair.
