After being referred to my recent “Siamese if you please” post by marmelmm, one of the very nice writers for “Spontoon Island” (E.O. Costello) commissioned me to do something similar to represent his character, Monique Bao My. This lovely lady is a French-Vietnamese Tonkinese, who after much mayhem on the high seas is left wearing only her undergarments. For the full story, "Chivalry Isn’t Dead" be sure to keep an eye on the Spontoon Island website:

This is a really neat site, with plenty of stories, comics, and art based on "South Sea Island Adventures" and other myths from 20th Century American popular culture. Definitely worth a look! =^_^= <3

I like the eloquent body language, from her shoulders, arms and hands, to her pleasingly-squeezed cleavage and encircling tail. I'm torn between the urge to stare, and the sympathetic desire to offer her a long, concealing coat.
*Sighs, offers her a coat.*
I am Canadian, after all.
By the way, I like as well your very simple yet effective approach to using highlights on long silky lustrous black hair. Nice!

I'll admit, I have a soft spot for Siamese cats and similar breeds, but even with that bias this is still a lovely piece. I especially love the enigmatic expressions that you give them, though in this case she seems to be more mildly annoyed that she's in her undergarments than nonplussed.
Actually, upon closer inspection I can see the expression of a belwildered and shy lady who has found herself in a rather overwhelming and compromising situation. Her eyes and the bangs partially concealing her eyebrows threw me off for a moment, but in a way that makes this piece like the picture that is either of an old woman or a young girl depending on how you look at it. Is Monique shy and bewildered, or is she annoyed and giving you a subtle but nasty glare?
Either way, it's a lovely piece, and the fact that it forced me to stop and consider it more closely makes it even better.

Speaking as both the chap who commissioned this piece, and the author of the story it goes with, I will say that you're not all that far off the mark with a few of your guesses.
Which ones? Ah, but you will have to check the story when it's posted. It will be posted on Spontoon Island in probably a few weeks, once a relevant part of the story arc called "Kocha Koi," co-authored by Walt Reimer, Mitch Marmel and myself, gets put up on the website. Watch for "Chivalry Isn't Dead," which is narrated by Monique.
As noted above, the Spontoon site is: http://spontoon.rootoon.com

For the record, by the way, this is the URL for Chapter 1 of Kocha Koi:

I'll probably be finding out soon in which chapter Walt Reimer has put the trigger for "Chivalry Isn't Dead."
I've been responsible on the Spontoon site for a number of detective mysteries starring Inspector Stagg, and I've co-written a number of slapstick romantic comedies with Mitch Marmel starring Reggie Buckhorn and his inamorta Willow Fawnsworthy. There are also some radio scripts on the site, too, with additional characters. For laughs, I recommend "Gross Misconduct" (starring Reggie), "Let's Not Duello on the Subject" (starring Reggie, Willow and a number of other supporting players) and "It's Shot From Guns" (radio script starring Rosie Baumgartner, a chum of Willow's). Detective stuff includes "The Gambit" (Stagg, and a personal fave of mine -- the chess game in there can actually be played) or the intro story for Stagg "The Wolf Without Wings." I'd also recommend Walt's very detailed and long-running serial "Luck of the Dragon" (in which Stagg has shown up on occasion as a supporting player).
