Ok..here's the thing. The subject matter (especially considering where you're posting it) already makes one think of Lion King right off the bat. Toss in the Lion King references and it becomes hard to take this as anything but a huge Lion King reference :/ which is unfortunate, because otherwise it would be a pretty good poem about feeling like you're on your own.
Why apologise?
I'm not upset.
As I said, you make a valid point. I just have to decide if the possibility that some might take the piece the wrong way (as you have pointed out), might dilute or subvert its overall message, or if I can get it across some other way and avoid that particular pitfall.
As I've said more than once, I always appreciate honest crits.
