Little tidbit: I had to copy the head. Well, copy it from something I drew. I had drawn some Spryo heads all over a scrap peice of paper, and this one actually looked good, and was what I wanted. But I couldn't replicate it well enough, so I just put a piece of paper over it and traced out a basic head and tweaked it and added to it. The rest came naturally...and my lavender marker wasn't working well when I colored this. So I did the 'shiny' look to get away with not coloring him in all the way.
