What is so bad about french novices?

French are really different than English or everyone else, we have lots of vice and especially a bad reputation
(I said English because I traveled in England when I was 17 and I was shocked by the sweetness of all people who welcomed me)
and being novics sucks... I admire all the time some pictures from great artists, but when I want to put something on paper... nothing happens... that frustrating
