The double S on his sleeve has to do with the family he's apart of, Scales (Kasem) and Seburo. Reason why he looks so sleepy and annoyed is because he's always up, tinkering and coming out with new ways to make things explode. So we tend to not bother him...as much since his lab is full of many dangerous experiments and mechs...all of which are highly unstable. XD
