Stopped by the local graveyard today because my mate Tygurstar needed some pictures for a school project she's been working on, she has to use use one letter from a picture of a sign, gravestone, etc. The bonus was that if it was a grave pre-1940, she could use every letter and number in it, because they were hand written for the most part.
So we walked around out in the snow for a little while, taking all sorts of pictures, I thought this was one of the best I got. I love old grave stones, the older the better, there were some here dating back to pre-revolutionary war era, including a few from the 1730s and 1740-50s. I really love colonial era as well, so that was pretty cool! I was surprised not to see the typical red sandstone looking graves like I have seen in other states, like CT. I'll have to learn more about what kind of stones were typical in a gravestone then.
These two though are from 1819 and 1845.
I don't know if I should post things with people's names on here, but seeing as how they've been dead for 153+ years, I don't think there should be too much to worry about.

Oh yes! Many even before the 1840s, or even the 1740s, earlier than that even, depending on where you look!
Thank you, this was one of the best pictures of the day, the white stone, faded writing and white of the snow and dreary weathered day made a lot of them all washed out, but this one came out pretty alright. : )
