Rainbow is a fully-grown Betta splendens, a fancy tricolor crowntail. He's actually a crossbreed between a crowntail and a double tail; when his fins are fully spread his tailfin is partially divided. He's spiky all over. fron tail to ventrals to pectorals.

In color Rainbow shades from cream at his head, through pink, purple, and bluish-purple down his body. His fin bases are bluish-purple, shading back through vivid pink back to cream on all the tips of his spikes.

He is probably the crankiest betta I have. I tried to breed him once, to a pinkish-purple female double tail, but the bugger would not cooperate. Which is a shame; the babies would have been spectacular.
