Like its name suggests, the Nissan R89 was the Japanese automaker's 1989 entry ito sportscar racing with one main goal - capturing a Le Mans win. With three cars, Nissan came with a full arsenal of talented drivers, including the #25 car piloted by Nissan's GTP drivers in the U.S., Chip Robinson and George Brabham. Unfortunately, while the cars showed great speed and promise, reliability and tire issues doomed the cars to rather lackluster finishes.
This Tamiya kit is a great kit and doesn't show its age one bit. The only gripe I had was with the decals - everything but the with is a decal. While it saves a lot of masking off, the decals just don't sit well since they are so big, and detracts from the overall finished product in my mind.
