The star of Stephen King's novel and John Carpenter's subsequent film of the same title, the 1958 Plymouth Fury has been a star in more than literature and film. When introduced in 1956, the Fury helped Plymouth shake of its staid and boring image to become a serious player in the ensuing horsepower wars of the '60s. With its long sweeping fins and "forward look" styling by Virgil Exner, the Fury not only looked fast, but went fast thanks to engine options including the poly 318 and Golden Commando 350 V8 engines.
This is AMT's rereleased Plymouth Belvedere kit. While the box lists it as a Fury, it is still incorrect; in fact, the body still has Belvedere emblems molded in! Oh well, still a great kit nonetheless.
