EDIT: In the bottom lines, I got the copyright date of James White's original poster wrong in the initial upload (2011, not 2013). F5 to fix it.
Whew, finally got this finished. XD
Belated gift pic for my raccoon bud
zapher, who had his birthday last weekend.
2011's Drive is one of his favourite movies, so to try something new (and because I couldn't think of a solid Zaph/Basil idea in time) I decided to try something different and recreate one of his favourite posters for the film, a retro-styled poster originally created by James White:

Whereas I guess I could have cut some corners here and there, I was feeling ambitious this time round - along with the obvious Zaph interstion, everything in this image was created from scratch to try and match the original artwork, either in direct duplication or mirroring the original style as close as possible. A lot of the finer details took longer than expected, but I love how this turned out at the end of the line.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy! (Especially you Zaph! :D)

When are you libel to be doing another stream? That one was fun, despite the fact I was only able to be there for like 10 minuets
Whenever I do public streams like that one though, I always post a --STREAMING NOW!-- journal to notify you guys, so all I can say for now is be on the lookout for those.
I'm happy you had fun visiting the stream though, even for just that short while - i'd certainly love to have you join us in future streams as well.
And don't worry, your request is getting started!
But glad you like my take on the poster all the same! :D
If you haven't seen 'Drive' yet, make a point to.
I started showing my brother 'Bronson' last night, NWR's non-fiction horror/comedy about Britain's most violent prisoner, Michael Peterson (played by Tom Hardy), who earned the fighting name 'Bronson' as an underground illegal bare-knuckle boxer. His crime initially involved petty robbery, but his 40 years of solitary confinement in prison were the result of Peterson thriving off of throttling the prison guards, including doing 250,000 pounds in damage to a mental hospital he broke out of and burned a good part of to the ground. A true story with a simultaneously hilarious and horrifying take on a caged, wild beast of a man who can't help but attack guards and cause general mayhem for no apparent reason.
I only wish I'd seen the stream; I've always wanted to be in pictures.
And hey, I'll draw your character sometime in the future i'm sure, so there's hope for being in 'pictures' yet. XD
Zaph looks like real gangster now and this poster looks soo real those speed effects
This title and credit part.......I SEE MYSELF........O/////O....glomps on Thiz* thanks >////<
Great work I LIKE IT
And yes, you're in the credits too. You were in the stream during the creative process, after all. XD
