This is definitely the best closeup I've gotten of any of the lion cubs at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo, this guy spent a lot of time interacting with me on my last visit, in this shot he's literally 6 inches in front of my lens!
During our interaction, I was wearing a lion shirt with a big male lion on it, and he saw the picture and just froze, staring at my shirt... I'm sure he was thinking "Is that my daddy?" or something.
I've had many outings where I come up with no or very few good photos, but a session like this is why I love animal photography

What an absolutely beautiful headstudy! Well done! I know how long it takes (and how many times one hits the 'delete image' choice on your camera) for you to get that one in a million shot....fantastic and thanks so much for sharing with us Kijani! If you hadn't told us this was taken through glass, I'd have sworn you were muzzle to muzzle with this little guy.
I do! I previously had a 10D, and while the Rebel line is considered more "entry level," it's very user-friendly and takes very crisp photos with the right lens combination. The kit lens 18-55 is pretty crappy unfortunately. The noise reduction at high ISO is the most impressive thing for me, with my previous camera shooting at 1600 in low light the photos would have a TON of noise, and be difficult to correct to acceptable quality - with the T3 shooting at 1600 produces little to no color noise. I also like the fact that it takes full HD 1080p video as well.
