Frostdragon work in progress - searching for good critique
Hey, I search for critique on this picture.
So I will try out FA ;)
if you have something to point out pls notice these guidelines
1. don't just write "something looks odd" - that does not help. Try to descripe what you. like : " the moon seems odd because I think it is more square in reality" Descripe what you mean
2 It can be really helpfull to add a link to a reference where you think it is done correctly.
3. Pls be friendly ;) critique is about helping not about letting people down.
So what do you think.
Let me know!

Actually ... this looks pretty darn good so far. I'm impressed, seriously. :)

An excellent opportunity to do that would be around the crystals. While everything in moonlight tends to take on a blue sort of tinge (at least with our moon), with crystals like that, the moonlight might get broken up into small spectra, like a prism projecting a rainbow on a wall.
Very nice looking overall. Very striking and beautiful color pallet used.
The edge of the wing in front of the moon gets lost a little where it is in front of the brighter areas of the moon as opposed to the darker areas. I love the bright lines of the reflected moonlight used on the upper edge the wings, neck and tail, but it gets lost when in front of something just as bright.

I was also going to say that in some ways, the scale looks very small. The crystals almost seem that they're about the size of your finger, which would make the dragon very small in actuality. I'm sure that, as you add more details, the scale will become more clear. That's just the way it looks to me at the moment.
Also the edges of the wings almost look like torn, wet paper, which is a really fascinating idea to me. It makes me imagine that the dragon is a child's drawing come to life. Tearing itself from that page and flying around the child's room at night while they sleep...landing on a small piece of quartz the child keeps on the window sill in front of the moon....
Lovely piece! I can hardly wait to see it finished.
Make sure you keep your light sources in mind. If the main light (of the moon) is directly behind (and maybe a little above) the character, the character and rocks aren't going to be getting a lot of light from the front. As it is, they seem to be getting a lot of light from the upper left of the image, and I'm not sure where that light would be coming from.
