I wouldn't worry about the kids shirt. My brother (in RL) has a pair of jeens that can become shorts thanks to a zipper around the legs at one spot. And he likes to war them with one long and one short. SO who's to say the kid here doesn't have the same thing. Besides, I never even noticed it untill you mentioned it.
