Was it really 2006 when I first drew this? Hard to believe, but the creation date on the file said “yes”, it’s been rolling around in storage ever since. I always liked the way her overall pose turned out from a fairly tricky angle, but I disliked the monochrome color I had originally chosen and lack of overall detail.

On a whim, I fiddled with it over the weekend, changed the colors, changed her hair, added one little flourish of detail, then another, and another, and once the ball started rolling, I couldn’t stop. The whole thing just took on a life and story all it’s own.

My only gripe is that this is much smaller than I’d dare try these days and the original somehow got squashed to a small size at low rez somewhere down the line, so I'm just happy to salvage something. There’s a few fundamental mistakes that I hope nobody dwells on, but I think it’s worthy of posting now.
