I was going to bring my suit to myrtle beach and wear it around but it didn't fit in the car :/
but for future reference, were people cool with it?

I just walked around the boardwalk which is a nice open public area and everyone loved it. People stopped to take pictures and get hugs and everything. They're all relaxed and on vacation anyways so they were totally cool with it. As long as you stick to places like the boardwalk you should be fine, I wouldn't go wearing it into any restaurants or private establishments or anything, that's asking for trouble unless you have permission previously.
