Supreme court rules against DOMA as unconstitutional, however is this really a victory that we should be celebrating? All this does now is make it up to the states to decide if gay marriage will be recognized. If your are married in a state where it's legal you can just as easily go to jail if you move to state where it's illegal. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/.....n_3454811.html

Wow I wasn't expecting you to go that negative.
I think the hard unfortunate truth is the court is scared of a another Roe vs Wade style backlash.
Instead right now it seems to play out a little more like the miscegenation struggle, so this would be more analogous to McLaughlin v. Florida instead of Loving v Virginia. We'll apparently have to wait for our Loving Virginia case.
I was disappointed it was 5-4 for sure. Where to go next? Unfortunately probably ballot proposals. There is small hope with the Detroit US District Judge Bernard Friedman will rule on it as well, he did expand the arguments to include same sex marriage (case was originally about same sex adoption).
