My first drawing of a Sly Cooper character in ages. This one is on one of Sly's ancestors who I felt should've been in Sly 4: Thieves In Time. Henriette One Eye Cooper. Sly's pirate ancestor and one of the few female ancestors (I know there's more but this one is the most known at the moment).
Aw man, I've noticed that Thieves in Time cast was mostly male dominated compared to the last 3 games. Even with Carmelita by the side, it was mostly the guys taking the lead, even all of the ancestors that were chosen for the game were all male. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem with it, it's just I feel there was a complete missed opportunity to have another female lead addition for the series and who better to pick than a female ancestor of Sly, which is this one. Some may argue that Sanzaru couldn't do it because it would mean having another pirate level which was already done in Sly 3, but considering the amount of times this series has used Paris for it's settings and Sly 1 and Sly 3 both used China as one of the levels, I feel it would be no harm bringing back another pirate themed level for Thieves in Time, especially since pirates are one of the most popular time era in time traveling video games/movies/etc. Besides, most people I know of who played Sly 3 considered the pirate level to be their favourite and I loved the level too (despite the tedious ship pirate battles). But anyway, the point is I feel like it would've been a great idea to have a female ancestor for the game. Not only would it raise the bar for strong female leads in video games, it would also satisfy female fans of the series, and trust me, there are just as many girls who are fans of the series as they are guys, and it's no small amount, quite the opposite actually. I mean, Carmelita is great but there needs to be more than her.
Plus, she's hot. So she'd get a free pass from me. ;D
I tried to draw Henriette in my own style, though I didn't think it came out too strong. Also, I feel like a messed up on the cane and the Sly icon. Oh well, I tried.
