An interesting commission for
razorblitz Yeah, interesting because he´s the first person who ask me in involve Orion into something that is not magic, swords, medieval or monsters. He´s now a gym instructor, and using tight shorts XD
So you see Trivol working out under Orion´s instructions, any chances that he could end up like Orion, probably he can if he never give up ^ ^
It was a bit of a challenge, that´s a pose that I don´t usually work on, now I see that I must practice more to endure it and not feel unsure about my choices, just like Trivol is doing there ^ ^

Perhaps XD But maybe because the shading is covering few details and we don´t see clearly that the backrest is in a little angle than the sit. Also, and perhaps the bench is a little bit thin than Trivol´s torso? I follow a reference that I saw on google, but yeah, this is the typo of pose that I said that I didn´t get enough practice XD But thanks for telling me that, to avoid that impression for the next time ^ ^
Yep, but well, if we talk about commission or maybe in a trade or something, I don´t mind to see my medieval characters in modern such. For these conditions, I could make some exception and break the nature´s laws, time and dimmension to make this kind of enconters XD But yeah, He´ll still my medieval dragon in his heart ;D
Well, I'm still looking someone (the great artist like you) that who available for art trade since I have one slot left to ask (I'm currently not an commissioner, unfortunate) and so far none of them were accept. Not really sure if you still available for art trade?
Yeah, it pretty much it to break nature's laws, time and dimension. Hehe, i see. ^.=.^

First of all, this has been quite a project, I guess... and it clearly took all your skills. ^^"
So, I congratulate on the challange: a room (gym) with two characters, a lot of stuff/furniture and a very difficult perspective.
Now the sad truth. :(
Despite the hard perspective, this artwork has quite a few flaws.
I don't say it's a BAD artwork... because the overall impression is good. You've found fitting colours, an interesting background, a nice scene which can even tell us a story... interacting characters (they also interact with the room) and the overall look is quite alright!
If we go deeper now, we can find lots of flaws in anatomy. -..-"
Razorblitz' arms are a catastrophe.
He does NOT have shoulders.
His biceps are both completely WRONG!
His lower arms are attached the wrong way, too.
Same goes for Orion, but his arms are not anatomically wrong... they just look out of place somehow. Can't really explain why... maybe because of the position.
The torso of the wolf is better, but shows many flaws around his rip cage (he has almost no ribs). The legs are more or less okay... the feet look weird again... with very strange toenails pointing rather up!! X..X
The gravest flaws are the hands.
I'm not only talking about Orion's hands... looks at the left hand of the blue wolf. Can you see what I mean?
He is NOT holding the bar properly! Somehow, the metal bar is going RIGHT THROUGH his hand... and the way he's holding it is NOT POSSIBLE, AT ALL! Sorry, to be so hard on you, but this is WRONG! His right hand is working well, but the left one... a mess. :(
And Orion... his hands are doing NOTHING! He is bored... and not even a part of the artwork, somehow. :(
It's such a pity... you were able to add YOUR character here and he's just standing there... looking like a part of the room's furniture. But he doesn't really DO anything!
Suggestion:
It hink Orion should've tried to help his friend... or at least point at the weights. Or something like this...
I see, you wanted him to stand there like "Hey, these are my weights!!!"... we can see it from his looks, pose and hands. But it's not really working here and I guess another kind of interaction might've been beneficial to the artwork.
:(
And even Orion's face looks "horrible"... and HE IS EVEN YOUR CHARACTER!!!! I think his face is very much distorted and out or proportion... if I look at his eyes, the snout and head shape... it does not fit. It fit better in the past, but here it's a small mess.
Same goes for the wolf.
Despite these flaws, I don't like this style... the "no LINE ART" style, ya know? I suppose you draw better anatomy WITH the black lines!! Maybe, because you can see the body parts and proportions much better... I dunno. But your "LINE ART" drawings (comic style) show much less flaws.
Or... you are just exhausted... your batteries are empty.
Aldo, I think that's it... you wanted TOO MUCH in TOO LITTLE TIME... and you have done sooooo many artworks in the past time. Really. I think your batteries have to be recharged! ^^"
It's nothing serious and it's not a bad thing... but I know what I'm talking about. When I did MANY artworks in a row, the later ones became horrible and full of flaws.
I'm not used to see such flaws from you... so my "warning sirenes" screamed!!! XD
Take a break and catch a breath.
^___^
Like I said:
Good impression and expression overall, but MANY flaws in anatomy and proportion.
I can see a lot of work... but maybe, you worked too fast.
Take more time. This project was a bit OVER YOUR HEAD... but that's not a problem. You will learn. You always do. ^^

Ow I see... Ok I must admit that I feel a little disappointed after reading your comment. Don´t worry, this is because of my lack of perspective in watching the details ^ ^º
Anyway, let´s check the details that you pointed XD With the arms of Trivol, sure, I didn´t watch references XP I guess that wasn´t the best move to draw this.
As for Orion´s participation, well, to be honest this is what he asked me to do XP I was looking for few references for a person getting on the back side f the one who´s lifting a weight in a bench, and I´ve found two options, one that asked me, which is a person just staring on the back watching him in case the lifter needs help, I can´t find the very same, but is like this moreless http://www.diseaseproof.com/uploads.....ge/cementw.jpg And the second option was the guy who stand, is helping the lifter to lift the feight a few moew by grabing the weight too, like this http://www.stepbystep.com/wp-conten.....ng-Spotter.jpg But in the end, he choose the first option.
So I though it wouldn´t be a problem, but I didn´t want to draw Orion all straight XP I decided to draw him a little bit curved because of his height and to show him watching him in case Trivol need help. But with your interpetation of Orion staring at him because he want the weight, well, guess it didn´t work pretty well, at least others though the same thing as he and I did XP But well, I guess is a manner of each one´s perspective? Who knows.
Hmm... I don´t know, I don´t think a lineless draw is the problem of making my mistakes more visibles, the problem is myself, I still lack of experience in working without the lines, but as I always say, "practice do the best of someone" I just need to practice more, to draw a lineless work in a different way as I do with the lineart work. Maybe you don´t feel a good atraction with the lineless works, but I´m curious to see more progress in that for my style, I like to test all kind of styles. And don´t worry, I´m not planning on leaving the lineart for the lineless work, no XP
Maybe you´re right about me working too much without resting, but to be honest, I don´t feel like that way when I worked on this. but perhaps rushing myself is what´s happening. I should give some time to work and some time to do another thing so I can get back to work with energy.
Wow, this is indeed the first time that I get a word like this from you, and yeah, I´m not very proud of this XP There´s some things that I need to take care, I admit. This isn´t the best of my works, perhaps, but it won´t make me to give up on improving more and more XP
By the way, thanks for your honest comment and for pointing me your oppinion ^ ^ I´ll do my best to not give up and to proceed to void my flaws. Perhaps it takes a while, or even more XD But it´s certain that I´ll do it!

It wasn't my intention to push or turn you down, after all... but what kind of friend or "teacher" would I be, if I didn't tell you the hard truth?
This artwork is not crap... but there are painful, sad flaws... and I am just not used to see this from you.
So... I merely worried. Yeah, I was worried. ^_^
And... you know what?
What dowe do when we fall down?
We get up and do it better next time!!

Heh, I like the way you just say in these last words ^ ^
But hey, don´t worry man, really XD Is true that I made lots of mistakes in this work and you couldn´t ignore them, so I understand that you needed to mention it, I would´ce do the same thing with anyone if they seek to improve themselves.
By the way, is normal that someone isn´t happy with a negative comment like this, but hey, I´m not mad at you, or sad that you´ve been rough to me. You just act like a good teacher, you´re worried about me because of this change, and that´s something that I feel good at it ^ ^
Sure, I messed things up XP but the good thing is that I don´t mess things daily XD I always do what I can to give good impressions in my work. Maybe I let my guard down in this one, maybe, but it is normal.

Hmm... can't see big changes, but I'm not a fan of "changing the artworks" after the submission, anyway. XD
Though I think that you've changed the faces... Orion's face looks better.
Don't worry.
I'm never "happy" with a negative critique, either... I can even share a small secret (if I haven't shared it already)..... :3
When I drew this artwork here, my friend Herisheft urged me NOT to finish it, but to cancel the project and to do it ALL OVER AGAIN!
This was the first version:
http://www.reptile-universum.de/rep.....0%28ink%29.jpg
AND THIS was the second version, which led to a very great result in the end:
http://www.reptile-universum.de/rep.....mily%20Fun.jpg
You see, I was pretty sad about the news, that I had to cancel the first one... but after a day, I agreed.
Sure, it's nice to hear only "milk sugar and honey"... but that WILL NOT help you!!!!
^^
And I want to tell you the facts, even if they can hurt.
After all, I never talk about your PERSON... it's always about the DRAWING! And though some people can't really understand this, I now you CAN... and that's why I keep giving you advise. Because you know that I help you with my professional experience and advise.
And last but not least:
I AM NOT perfect, either!
XD

Yes, as I say, there´s not too much change, but I made enough changes to hide the possibles flaws ^ ^º.
It´s ironic that you shared me that detail that that pic was canceled to do another and a better idea. I offered to razorblitz a possible second pic that could be better IF I couldn´t fix most of the things that must be. Perhaps you don´t like at all the fact of "changing" an art work, wich could mean fixing or changing completely. But if I noticed my mistakes and said that "ahh ok, I get it now" I wanted to do an effort of showing that I did saw the mistakes and that the idea could be saved.
So yeah, to be honest, I´m glad that I was able to make these little changes, but I hope I don´t have to do that again in the future. As I found what was my error on this, I´ll avoid it for the nexts works and be sure to make the less flaws as possibles, better saying, a good work XD
Well, I can only say that thanks for watching again the pic with the changes, perhaps I couldn´t fix all, but it does look different comparing with the previews one ^ ^
