Specimen Brood History: Specimen #013 is from the genetic engineering brood as Specimen #025.

Description: Specimen #013 has been given the moniker R.E.M. by supportive services personnel. Moniker has been obtained following #013 exemplified personal characteristics; notably #013's illuminated irises and its seeming inability to close its eyelids during dormancy. This trait results in #013 appearing to be active indefinitely; possibly a defense mechanism while it recuperates.


Special Containment Procedures: Specimen #013 is to be contained in an environmental observation cell under constant surveillance for acquisition of specimen's characteristics.

Additional Notes: Specimen #013 appears to be attracted to other sentient specimens or subjects; even without any direct contact or knowledge of their presence. #013 has expressed this interest acutely during sentient subject's dormancy. Dormant subjects introduced into the vicinity of #013, even separated by containing devices, arouse its activity and interests. Specimen #013 functions in a predatory state when these conditions arise. Interestingly #013 even when direct contact was possible never made physical contact or inflicted harm on subjects. Subjects after regaining consciousness reported to Personnel the following symptoms: Paranoia, Exhaustion, Delusions, Physical Fatigue, etc. Thus it is proposed that, via methods unknown to Personnel, specimen #013 is able to grain energy and sustenance from dormant sentient creatures. This is further confirmed by #013's apparent lack of consumption or digestion.

Addendum: Specimen #013 after frequent contact with a particular subject appears to bond with aforementioned subject. This bonding may be the possible confirmation of #013's sentience, or more likely the favoritism of particular source of sustenance.
