I wonder how many furs will identify with this. Personally I've had this happen to me so many time's I've lost count.
except for a few cases where the word "country" should be replaced with the word "world."
and yes, I am ridiculously late with this V-day comic.
note to self: pinstripes are a royal pain in the ass to draw.

*snickers* who's a whore? me? or the furs who get into long distance relationships before meeting in person? and why are you still a part of this fandom if you detest it so? I never understand people like that.
its like being catholic and hating Christians, and still going to church.

I have many friends in the fandom. It's like a parasite, you know. You hate the fucker, but it's still living with you for a long period of time.
The long distance crap seems like a joke to me. One of my friends where I used to live got into a few LDRs and I'd end up havign to comfort him after they broke shit off....even though they never even met.
Know what I mean?

well online makes it much easier to find people with like thinking. my coworker met his wife online. problem is without the in person part of it, you never know if it can/will work or not. and assuming it will is naive.
there's an unprecedented level of naivety within this fandom.
as for your involvement in the fandom. that's completely up to you ;3 even if all my friends were like say, white nerdy guys wouldn;t nesecarily make me a nerd..... oh wait. they are. and I am.
okay bad example.

it's usually the kind of thing where I'd want to meet them in person and spend a good amount of time with. of course, that in and of itself means I gotta like them a lot to do it. a couple times, after meeting the person in reality, feelings sorta peeter off. but a couple haven't. those are the ones who live the furthest away :C
Okay... please don't take offense, but...
I know a guy (Person A) who, after only a few days of talking to me, said he thought he loved me. He only THEN found out I lived across the planet, had a girlfriend, and was underage... seventeen, by the way. My other friend (Person B), also male, was in a polygamous relationship with one girlfriend and one boyfriend. For reasons I won't share, they broke it off.
Not even a week had passed since this breakup, and both Person A and B are now an item.
Personally, I think most "mates" over the internet are just fleeting attractions taken out of context, or just your desire to YIFF taking hold and looking for a direct outlet in the form of a mate.

why would I take offence to that? ;P
as I stated in one of my other replies, there's an unprecedented level of naivety within this fandom.
I like to think I'm not TOO naive and have a little more knowledge about relationships. when I use mate I mean in person boyfrien who I see on a regular basis and/or live with.
and FYI I have never called a significant other a mate.
