D'you know, this is the first digital painting I've ever done that wasn't a commission? Considering it took me three heavy days to complete though, maybe that's not so surprising X3
Things have been a little stressful for
c_majah and I lately - nothing serious, we're both in good health and all, mostly just money worries (isn't it always? ><) and some other complicated stuff. So of course I decided to spend three days doing unpaid digital artwork... always sensible in times of trouble, that's me! ;P Anyway, there's this hill near our place that takes only 20 minutes to hike up, but commands an awesome view of our tree-filled city, framed by ocean on three sides and - on a clear day - mountains on four. Sitting up there together and watching the sun rise is the best tonic for stress ever :3 This is a very vague representation of that place, but more a representation of our home and why we love it so much (even more appropriate since today is Canada Day too, hehe!).
The floaty shiny things are supposed to be rather fantastical versions of cottonwood fluff, by the way. I go nuts every year when the cottonwoods drop their fluff, and for a couple of months in late spring it's just floating everywhere. Somehow it looks really magical... well, and it reminds me of the floaty fairy sprites in Zelda: OOT, a major component of my childhood, LOL.
PS. Because I know people are going to ask,
c_majah is a Tigorilla (tiger-gorilla) :3

opposable toes Hmm......
Fantastic work on the piece, you are really went full out on all the details, and isn't it funny how the small things are made fun of constantan but the hardest buggers to replicate. :).. You did an dazzling job on this one! and Just a thought.....sometimes in the hardest points of stress we are not whimsical, but find the best points of creation to channel our stresses!... Maybe you should talk with your Beefy partner there and share with him why it took you 3 day's to do instead of a couple hours. Might go a long way in a few fields if you may have them.
