To Disturb or Not to Disturb (That is NOT the Question)
Ok, so I wasn't able to get too many thoughts out yet with all I had to do, so decided on at least SOMETHING.
Anyway, saw MU. It was an OK film (ironic, considering OK is short for a particular fraternity hehehe), got me to laugh a bit, especially some of those Kappa guys and the eyeball and fur rug's competitive streak.
I got the emotional stuff too...generally I'm not a drama-inclined guy, but sometimes it gets to me. I can't remember my own college days (did I have them...??), so some things I couldn't connect to, but I got a general idea.
Kinda a weird message with the cyclops guy. Obviously, he doesn't get to be what he wants, but it's weird seeing him obsess over it. Ok yeah, I can get obsessed sometimes too and yeah...gets me in trouble TOO...but just saying, kinda sad everybody's doubting'em and....they're right.
I KIND of get that behemoth guy...I mean I don't know if I got a family name to live off too...but I've seen rich boys acting like jerks before, and this guy fit the bill. Well...ok...a lot of them just act like jerks...because they ARE jerks. But yeah, some are just worried about meeting expectations.
Guess the film was more for college kids and emotions about changing (personality-wise) and development and all that. Kinda deep for a "kid's movie" if you ask me.
Which brings me to the third guy...yeah...the one I personally know...
Heh...guy was such a geek. Kind, considerate...wanted to hit it off with the ladies (Hey ladies, you like cupcakes? Wondering on that.) and just make some friends. Too bad he got in with the wrong crowd.
Seriously...who DIDN'T notice those Roar guys were complete tail-ends to'em? That cool invisibility thing he can do was a "trick" to'em. And WHAT SUPPORT...they gave'em when that behemoth guy messed him up near the end, embarrassing the crap out of him. No wonder the guy's anti-social, I'd be too if that sort of thing happened to me at that age.
Anyway, I could go more descriptive or go on a rant, but I'll hold there.
After seeing this thing, and getting a moment between adjustments on the ship, I went to see the guy. Why? I had no idea. I felt the need to...SAY or DO something.
Good thing is, he's got himself into a sorta "routine" as it were, so he wasn't hard to find.
Of course...psyche yourself up is good and all, but when your a few feet from giving that "good ole' pep talk"...yeah, most of the time you just want to try it tomorrow. I mean REALLY...the stuff happened like...over two decades ago. Guy seems to be still hurting, but then again that's two decades, a lot of other stuff probably happened too.
(Oh yeah, seriously, not a coward. I JUST lost my nerve, who can say they wouldn't in such a situation, come on!)
I know I know, it SERIOUSLY looked like he needed a friend in that moment. Don't worry, DID go back. Just got a drink, asked how he was doing and just avoided the topic all together (which was pretty difficult for me since I had tried working up things to say on it).
He must've been tipsy or something, cause he was calmer than he usually is. Maybe he WAS wanting somebody to come in and join him. Then again, maybe it was just a rare vulnerable moment for him.
Glad I caught it though.

I think so too. He's got that whole shell thing going on, and probably doesn't want to admit stuff like being lonely or something.
I'm unsure if he KNOWS that it's public now...but if he does, probably brings back some bad memories he buried a long time ago. Then again, guess the after math is he doesn't trust people as well and is anti-social. Guess those things are kind of what made things difficult for him.
I mean seriously. Years, and nobody's looking for him to my knowledge. Guess he wasn't able to make much in the way of friends who cared about him. Maybe he's actually....
