this turned out to be an incredibly fun game over the last few days.
haven't finished it, but I did have a chance to stream it with some folks
and I may continue to do this considering I've come really close to the ending.
but anywho,
I wanted to do another color image and try to brush up on my background
skills, clearly they need more brushing, I just don't really have anything on mind
when I go to imitate landscapes or environments, I'm finally getting a little
more understanding as to color, but....not so much buildings and ground.
but,
little bit at a time i guess.
hope you guys dig it, and I hope you guys get a chance to join me in the next game stream.
dig it.

here is an image of the main character:

and yea, i think the blood dragon guy is a collection of old
80s and 90s movie characters, and this is right along that genre.

When you're done with that, you're gonna wanna do this... http://harebrained-schemes.com/post.....ns-first-look/
At least, I know I sure as hell do.

No at all, you can make new layer, use the same BG shade (dark blue) in this case, and start shading Neokat
set transparency to 50% or something depond on the software ya are using.
It will give ya nice fast refelction of shades on character.
If you want to shade every color material, you have to decide the destination of light source first.
Ya might as well need to draw BG before start shading.
Which sometime I keep failing at

hmm,
i wish I understood what you meant.
however i do have the background and neokat on separate layers,
so it would be easy to make a new background, but aside from
that I don't totally follow. I tried putting some darker colors on top
of her, but i can't find a proper way to blend her together.

Make new layer, with color pick tool, pick the perferd shadow from BG, and start coloring one side of her.
Layer has to be above Neokat colors, and below lines, then lower the transparency a little.
Something like this: http://i.imgur.com/vGJSr3W.jpg
Quick coloring on sai.

oh wow, really?
I was excited to play, I haven't played it yet.
of course I haven't finished the SNES version yet either.
I should eventually.
had some friends do some dialogue with me,
we would read the characters, that first run
was really fun.
if I get a chance I may try and find some more friends to
do some dialog with other RPG games.
glad you dig.
thanks for the comment.

Sure thing. The problem I have with the Returns one, is that they could have been fantastic with it. Instead they make it like a linear game. As in, you go from area to area as if it were a gauntlet and doing the missions, and side missions along the way which don't really give much in setting or story. In my view, it's almost deteriorated to MMO quality quests. (almost)
You can't go back and forth, solve puzzles, the whole talking thing and asking questions isn't really there. They kind of pretend it is by giving you options on what to say but it's all still the same really with minor changes to the game. "oh they'll attack us now" or "oh we can skip this fight and continue down the same path anyway" kind of thing.
It's a shame.

oh wow,
yea that does sound terrible.
I really dug how it was partly an action RPG,
and partly a point and click game, that transferred
rather well to SNES, just hasn't been done well
many other times, Ultima VI on SNES did very poorly.
so to see a PC style game done on a console like that
is quite amazing for the time, yea, that is quite a bit
of shame considering the SNES game is more like a PC
game and the PC game is more like a console game...
how ironic.

Oh my gosh, you had to go and remind me about Ultima VI ~_~ Yeah point and click stuff, which is one reason I was figuring Shadowrun would be ideal on a computer. :3
The point and click parts are fine. The battles are now turn based, which I was HIGHLY skeptical about but meh honestly, as far as I've bothered getting hasn't bothered me. It feels, fine in that world.
But I mean come on, then you start playing and it gets silly right off the bat. You find Armitage and he's 'sleeping' inside a 'chop shop' (I.E. morgue) inside one of those things again. Ohh how the jokes follow. They shoe horned the characters in silly ways. Granted I Love the characters a LOT, they didn't 'feel' like the characters. Nothing more than a shout out. Bleh.
You can name yourself as a Shadowrunner, so I named myself, "White Crystal" thought that kind of fit. I would suggest if you really want the game, get it real cheap or you'll feel slighted. It's.... nostalgic for a little bit, but I haven't touched the game since it came out (after playing it 2 or 3 times) because I went back to the SNES one. xD

yea, I'll probably do the same thing.
I may still enjoy it, I actually like the old one for the silliness,
just because of how dated all the futuristic stuff is,
like dos computers and Cell Phones, you know,
stuff from the future. lol.
but yea, I like the point and click element, I'm a little
upset about that, well I have it and I'll give it a try soon.
