
A picture I took last year in Sicily on my way to the crater of Mt. Etna. This is a Hummingbird Hawk-moth and the name is very appropriate indeed: their wings move ridiculously quickly and when looked at from the right angle, the only thing distinguishing them from actual hummingbirds is the antennae on their heads.
These little guys were a pretty common sight while I was in Sicily, and they were a lot of fun. Shout-out to all the mothsonas out there.
