Have you guys ever noticed how furries don't have a unifying symbol? Every group of outsiders needs a logo, every disenfranchised mass a rallying flag. But what do we have? A generic paw pad somebody swiped off of clipart? I hate to break it to you guys, but that thing is used everywhere from animal rights organizations to elementary school sports teams. It's about time we got our own rainbow flag, don't you think?
I'm not saying this is it, but this is my bid at the 'unofficial' furry logo. It doesn't stray too far from the symbol we already have unfortunately institutionalized, it sums up what we represent, and it's innocuous enough a design to keep you out of awkward conversations with the uninitiated. Hopefully it will catch on?
To help it catch on I would LOVE to sell shirts of this sucker. Yes, I know you can just print it out and iron it on yourself, but not only will you be very unsupportive of the artistic community by doing so, you will also be spending a great deal of your own time and effort on an inferior product. I have access to screen printing and fine-quality shirts. Nevermind you how, I got it you see? And I can get these puppies to you for under $20. BUT! BUT! I will need a MINIMUM of 25 confirmed, not quasi-situational, but 'I will total buy this when it's for sale for that price' people before I can go about actually selling these. So please, if you want one and you KNOW you'd buy one if they went on sale this month, let me know in a note or the comments below.
And if this design isn't doing it for you, but you still want a trendy furry shirt, then check out this other design here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10984305/

There is a universal symbol that some furries use.

""Phi" (upper case Φ or <math>\Phi</math>; lower case φ, <math>\phi</math> or <math>\varphi</math>) was selected as it represents both the letter "F" in the modern Greek language ("F"urry,) and the Golden Ratio, which some Yiffstar users perceive is a symbolic metaphor for the equal balance between furries and nature. ...I'd say "rather poor" is an understatement.

I looked at the thumbnail and didn't think it was interesting and then I looked at the thumbnail some more and realized it was actually more interesting.
...Not that I'd be 'out' enough to use such a thing, but I don't think that's a problem that design can solve. x3 I like what you've done here.

If it's not something you'd wear than maybe there's still more work to do!
I'm glad the design has a subtle draw like that, though. The most iconic images have an unnatural appeal that just seems to connect the viewer immediately to a certain emotion or zeitgeist.
