Again taken in the dark, but this one's with the holographic sight set to high power, where it's pretty uselessly bright. This is more to show the amount of light that leaks from the sight when it's on, which is very little, even at it's highest settings.

Nope, completely real. Since I'm in New York, I can't have flash hiders, so I had to find a carbine with a bull barrel and no muzzle device. No telescoping stocks, either, and no bayonet lugs. And no high capacity magazines, either, unless they're old, and I just happened to find a really nice guy willing to sell an old one to an assault weapons ban state.
What the hell? Where in NY are you? I want to know so when Obama tries to take MY guns away I know where to hide. I am really impressed with the pre-ban drum mag. That is a pretty legit find. My apartment is overflowing with pre-ban 30 round mags I'm finishing up. Fucking laws. -.-
Were you at Fur Fright by chance?

It does suck. I'm building an AR now, I'll have to pin the brake, cut the bayonet lug, and use the ACE stock instead of a tele-stock.
Fortunately, still, I can have it remain a detachable magazine semi-auto, and use pre-ban high capacity magazines, so I suppose not all is lost.
As far as the foregrip goes, I don't really care for them but though I'd give it a try. I like this one because it's ergonimic, but I'm certainly not going to go get more for other rifles.

I'd better not buy a handgun, I can't legally own them, yet. As soon as I'm eligible I'm going to apply for a liscense, and as soon as I get that license I'm going to start putting together an ultimate 1911, as well as a few others. One of them has to be a Spanish Star Modelo B, as they're very nice 9x19 pistols good for carry purposes.
I was thinking about buying another AR-15 lower so I wouldn't have to change uppers and I could configure one for carbine use with a shorter stock, though. That wouldn't really be a whole firearm, though.

The mag was $250 with all accessories and S&H. I probably wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't a pre-ban version of one that's illegal here now, as I have a bag full of 30rnd Magpul PMAGs. The sight, I bought new at a gun show for $275, and the good flashlight was about $3, but I doubt it could handle anything other than the .223. The foregrip was about $12, and one of the better foregrips I've had my hands on. No gimmicks like a folding bipod or anything, but it does have space for batteries inside.
While I would just take off the carry handle and scoot the EO Tech back, this is a fixed handle upper receiver, so I can't. I do have a set of backup irons on another rifle that I'd readily pull off and mount on here if I could, though. I might try and find a nice upper with a few extra rails on it at the next gun show, though.

Ah, I have a pre-ban AR with birdcage flash hider...
lol, the only pic or vid I have of it is on my youtube and it's kind of an older video... hence why I look kinda yongue. lol

Yep. That's one of the first-gen Beta Mags. Two fifty round drums on either side for a low profile and even weight distribution. Since the AWB is still active here, I went out of my way to find one of the old ones that won't get me arrested. Unfortunately, with the price of ammunition now, if I fill that thing a few times I've spent more on the ammo than I have on the magazine. Now, even more depressing, I have a thigh rig full of PMAGs behind my door, and each is full of Black Hills 68gr .223 reloads in Lake City cases. The ammunition in those was more expensive than the magazines.
True. That's part of the reason I took up loading my own. A match grade .223 will cost about:
$.20 per 69 grain Sierra Match King bullet
$.03 per primer
$.10 or so for powder, maybe.
That's about the price for Wolf, but it won't clog up the chamber, and it's very accurate.
Reloading for a .45-70 is a bit more expensive, but there's more of everything there.

I have one Beta drum, a drop-leg rig with 9 magazines in it, and a pile of counterfeit Bushmaster 10 rounders. I bought those from CheaperThanDirt, and most of them fell apart before I could load them. The bodies weren't welded very tightly, and when they were painted, the paint seeped between the halves, and they lost all their structural rigidity. Here's the first two that broke, and they sent me one replacement to see if it was OK, a it was just as bad, only the weld on the very top was holding it together.
Oddly enough, I called Bushmaster about the whole thing. The person I talked to couldn't find any evidence that any Bushmaster magazines had been sent to CTD in the past six years, and that the ones I have may likely just be counterfeits. I haven't shopped there since then, even though I've kinda wanted to.
You're a god among men.
I have a family member (brother) who's a gun nut, and hailing from Scotland in the United Kingdom, we simply can't get 'proper' weapons over here - let along assualt rifles!
Which means he has an m249 in his bedroom... full metal and everything... of the Airsoft variety.
and you think YOU need to move!

I do need to move if i want certain features, or a handgun in the next few years. In New York State, we're now allowed to have bayonet lugs, flash hiders or threaded muzzles(a pinned on brake is just fine, though), telescoping stocks, rifle grenade launchers(of the muzzle variety), and all the '94 assault weapon ban stuff.
If I want to own a handgun, not even being able to take it out of the house, I need to wait until I've been in New York for three years, then I can apply, and eventually might get a response back, then I can pick out a handgun, apply to purchase, and when the paperwork for that goes through, I can pick it up and take it home and lock it up until I can get a license to shoot it.
But I do have a pretty good collection of various toys, most of which are pretty nice.

WOW. I didn't realize how strict NY is with guns. In a year I could go out and get a handgun at the gunshow near my house or get one a a local gun store and wait for the five(5) day period for the background check, then take it to the range an get trigger time. As far as I know I don't need a permit to own a gun unless it's for conceal carry or a fully automatic. I feel sorry for you.
I do love the Eotech though I think I'm going to go with Trijicon's 1.25x24 (I think) scope.
Yeah those grips are very comfy. Mine rests under a Midwest Industries rail, though I think I'm going to get an offset mount from Krebs so I can mount my G2 on the bottom and still have plenty of thumb access.

I'd believe it. I bought one out of curiosity, loaded it with 30 rounds of Black Hills 68 grain rounds, and dropped it onto cement a few times. Then threw it. Then went for a few light poles. And then stomped on it pretty hard with my Bates boots. Then I went and bought eight more for my emergency bag.
Yeah but really, it pisses me off.
Have those guys NEVER looked out of a window before? When I look out of the Window I see things like THIS: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1285128/
Does that look BROWN and DARK for you?
Seriously, I can only set the brightness so high on my TV. And when I still can't see anything after breaking the right border of the gauge, I stop playing DMC4 and go back to Brawl.
(Though DMC4 is awesome :D)

Devil may cry 4. Awesome game and only brown in the beginning.
It's crazy enough to color levels "reality-brown" in a game where you can hold yourself in mid-air for about a minute, just by swinging your motorized bastard sword, or shooting with two guns bigger than desert eagles at once, without realoading even one time. ^^
Doesn't seem very "realistic" to me, but it's helluva fun time :D

Aye! is a pity that you live in NY, where gun laws are very restrictive; down here in the "Gunshine" state, we enjoy everything, including Class III goodies. I have an 03A4 clone that I built that needs some range time (probably this weekend) and i need to get the dust bunnies out of my AR.
You should join this website - http://www.ar15.com And enjoy the camaraderie from fellow AR nuts like me.
Bad behavior can only be curved and is inevitable in forums like ARFCOM, but in 4Chan, it becomes a sort of artform. Trust me, ARFCOM is well worth the visit, plus you get to meet other shooters in your area (NY State Hometown Forums) that could help you spruce your AR and keep it up to snuff...
Trust me, ARFCOM is a great site.

Yeah, 4chan has had a few good moments, but for the most part it's just going completely to the trolls now. However, I've tried to register, but neither of my original accounts work, and I can't find one from somewhere that will work. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get an address that I could use to register, would you?
Yeah, though I did get a nice muzzle brake for the newer one I built. Permanently attached to a 14.5" barrel so it neither counts as a feature, and takes it over 16". I have a special load for carbines that reduced flash and burns up all the powder by about the time it gets to the gas port, so it's not too bright, and keeps the rifles clean.
It's not much more economical, since it's just a few grains shy of what I load with other powder, but it performs pretty well given the shorter barrel length. Good time to learn how to reload, though, primers, powder, and bullets are a little easier to get ahold of, but ammo is still pretty high.
Do it! I started out with a couple sets of Lee Classic dies, about $20 a caliber, a rubber hammer, and a little powder and a few primers, and the first loads I did for my .223 shot better than any of the factory match loads I bought, then I started reloading for everything. And that's not even to mention how much I'm saving loading. As it is now, those 62 grain .223 carbine loads end up costing me no more than about $7.50 per box of 50, and for the calibers I'm casting my own bullets for, it's a matter of nickles and dimes. With a little scrounging for good bullets for it, I can feed that .500 AHR for about $.40 a round, rather than paying the $225/20 cost they're asking for 'em. Plus, for other, more unusual calibers, such as the .350 Remington Magnum, I can form brass from something as common as .300 Win Mag cases and save money like that, too.
It sorta is. I found a bag of surplus IMI brass a while ago for a super-cheap price. But without counting the cost of the brass into the equation, it ends up being more expensive to reload that than it is to shoot cheap steel-cased stuff. Now I'm just waiting on a 6.5 Grendel upper so I'll have something to use all this nice brass in.
I went ahead and strangled the carry handle off of here, used the extra material to make a quad rail, and punched the muzzle until it turned into a NYS compliant brake. Much nicer now.
