One of a group of commissioned illustrations I did for a documentary project called "Oil Change", which play off the dangers of trans-fats in food. There's a certain irony in having a heavy guy like me working on a project like this, but I'll ignore that for now.

Plenty of irony considering how they marketed the partially hydrogenated oils as so wonderful and safe to replace those 'terrible' cooking oils before only to end up now saying how evil they are and to go back to the natural way. End result, just ignore those food fad types and just eat a reasonable and balanced.
Cute and silly poster too.

Yeah, I was gonna make a comment along the lines of "Twinkie the Kid's gone bad", but... eh.
And I only barely remember the end of that era, with the Hostess Fruit Pies comics, myself. Twinkie the Kid reminds me more of the Robot Chicken skit they had where he shoots a piece of broccoli or celery or something, and "saves" a bunch of fat kids from eating healthy, and then they start ripping chunks out of him and eating them.

Speaking of Twinkies, I just started reading Twinkie Deconstructed, it's got more information on what Twinkies, mand most other processes junk food, are made of then you'll ever really wan't to know. Fasicanting stuff.
